# Asana

Read Asana projects and tasks — list what's in a project, get full task details, and search across the workspace — directly from Slack.

## What It Enables

| Tool            | Capability | Description                                                  |
| --------------- | ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `list_projects` | `read`     | List all projects in the workspace                           |
| `list_tasks`    | `read`     | List tasks in a project with status, assignee, and due date  |
| `get_task` | `read` | Get full task details including subtasks and recent comments |
| `search_tasks`  | `read`     | Search for tasks across the workspace by keyword             |

All tools are read-only. This connector does not create or modify Asana tasks.

## Setup

**Required:** Asana personal access token

**Where to find it:** [app.asana.com → My Settings → Apps → Personal access tokens](https://app.asana.com/0/my-apps)

1. In the Notara dashboard, go to **Tools**.
2. Click the **Asana** tile.
3. In Asana, go to **My Settings → Apps → Personal access tokens** and create a new token.
4. Paste the token into the credential field and click **Verify & Save**.

Your access token is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.

## Example Prompts

> "List all active projects in Asana."

> "What tasks are overdue in the Q3 Launch project?"

> "Search Asana for anything related to onboarding."

> "Show me the details and comments on Asana task 1234567890."

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://notara.gitbook.io/notara-docs/connectors/asana.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
