# Apify

Run any Apify Actor — Instagram scrapers, TikTok scrapers, YouTube scrapers, and thousands more — and read the results directly from Slack.

## What It Enables

| Tool                      | Capability | Description                                                          |
| ------------------------- | ---------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `apify_search_actors` | `read` | Search the Apify Store for scraping and automation Actors by keyword |
| `apify_run_actor` | `write` | Run an Actor synchronously and return its dataset items |
| `apify_get_dataset_items` | `read` | Fetch items from an existing Apify dataset by ID |

`apify_run_actor` consumes credits on your Apify account — keep `maxItems` small (10–50) unless you need more.

## Setup

**Required:** Apify API token

**Where to find it:** [console.apify.com → Settings → Integrations → API tokens](https://console.apify.com/settings/integrations)

1. In the Notara dashboard, go to **Tools**.
2. Click the **Apify** tile.
3. In the Apify console, go to **Settings → Integrations** and create or copy a personal API token.
4. Paste the token into the credential field and click **Verify & Save**.

Your API token is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.

## Example Prompts

> "Search Apify for an Instagram profile scraper and show me the top results."

> "Run the apify/instagram-profile-scraper for @nike and return 20 posts."

> "Pull the latest results from Apify dataset abc123xyz."

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://notara.gitbook.io/notara-docs/connectors/apify.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
